The Brief
The project involved the interior design of a 50 sqm apartment located in the historic Garbatelladistrict of Rome. The client, a young artist with a passion for music and theatre, envisioned a bright, calm, and comfortable home that could support both his creative activities and moments of relaxation. The aim was to create a space that felt personal, functional, and inspiring, while enhancing the qualities of the existing apartment.
Our Approach
The main challenge was to transform the living area into an open and flexible space capable of accommodating different functions: a kitchen, dining area, and relaxation zone, all while maintaining a sense of harmony and openness.
To reflect the client’s lifestyle and desire for simplicity, a neutral palette was chosen for the walls and parquet flooring, creating a light and timeless atmosphere. Particular attention was given to the selection of materials and finishes, combining natural wood in the living area with concrete tiles in the bathroom to add texture and character.
Custom solutions were introduced to maximise comfort and versatility: an extendable dining table allows the space to adapt from four to six guests, while a large sofa in the living area can be transformed into a double bed for visitors. The bathroom was enhanced with a chromotherapy lighting system integrated into the shower, adding a sensory and relaxing element to the daily routine.
The Outcome
The completed apartment is a warm, adaptable, and contemporary home that reflects the creative spirit of its owner. Through thoughtful planning and carefully selected materials, a small footprint has been transformed into a multifunctional space where creativity, hospitality, and relaxation coexist.
The project demonstrates how intelligent design can enhance everyday living, creating an environment that feels open, comfortable, and deeply connected to the personality of its inhabitant.
